As of LCOS version 8.80 (download) a change to the concurrent user licensing model means that the LANCOM Content Filter can be operated more efficiently.

The change to the licensing model provides more flexibility in the recognition of simultaneously active users of the Content Filter. As a consequence, the number of user licenses can be minimized because the Content Filter only takes currently active users into account.

If a user of the Content Filter is found to be inactive after a set time of 5 minutes, then the IP address is removed from the user list. The Content Filter can then accept a new user with a different IP address.

    Information:
In former versions of LCOS, the licensing model was such that the IP addresses of the Content Filter users were stored in a list and were only released again after a period of 24 hours.
