Description:
The LANCOM vRouter supports up to five virtual Ethernet ports. Two Ethernet ports are created automatically by the Startup Wizard. If you wish to use additional Ethernet ports, you create them as follows.

Requirements:
  • The LANCOM vRouter is available as an OVA or UPX file (download).
  • VMware ESXi 6.0.0 or higher is running on a server with the Intel XEON processor with the AES extended instruction set (Intel AES-NI) and hardware virtualization (Intel VT-x).
  • VMware vSphere Client 6.0.0 or later must be installed on the device that is used to access the VMware ESXi server.
  • The virtual machine must meet the following minimum requirements:
    • 1 virtual x86 CPU
    • 512 MiB RAM
    • 512 MiB hard drive memory
    • 1–5 virtual network interfaces based on VMXnet3

Procedure:
1. Select vRouter from the list of virtual machines and then click Edit Virtual Machine Settings in the tab Getting Started.
2. The VM settings contain the basic parameters for the virtual machine that hosts the LANCOM vRouter. On the Hardware tab, click the Add button to provide additional resources or interfaces to the router.
3. Select the device type Ethernet Adapter and confirm your selection with the button Next.
4. Select the adapter type VMXNET 3 and assign it to the appropriate target network of the ESXi server. If you select the option Connect at power on, the additional Ethernet port will be available for use after you restart the vRouter.
5. The selected options are presented once again as a summary. If you wish to make any changes, use the menu on the left-hand side to jump to the corresponding dialog of the Wizard.
By pressing the button Finish you exit the Wizard, which then sets up the new Ethernet port.
