Information:

The Adaptive Noise Immunity feature (ANI) is available as of LCOS version 8.84 and can be used by all of the LANCOM access points and WLAN routers in the current product portfolio (date: October 2015).

Some older LANCOM devices that are able to operate LCOS 8.84 do not support ANI, because these devices are equipped with a WLAN module that does not support this feature.

These include:
  • Early versions of the LANCOM OAP-54. Although these devices are equipped with 2-chip modules (i.e. AR5112 for radio), they operate with the older chipset AR5212 as MAC/baseband.
  • Devices with 3-chip modules, typically Wistron CM6, equipped with AR5212 (MAC/baseband), AR5111 (5GHz radio) and AR2111 (2.4GHz radio)

The Adaptive Noise Immunity feature is supported by Atheros WLAN chipsets as of model AR5213.

Information on the different models and versions of the WLAN chipsets is available on this Web page.

How do I find out which WLAN chipset is installed in my device?
  • On the command line for the LANCOM device, enter the command ls /Status/WLAN/Interfaces
  • In LANmonitor go to the path System information -> Interfaces -> WLAN

  • In WEBconfig go to the path LCOS menu tree -> Status -> WLAN -> Interfaces
