Information:

In LANconfig versions up to 10.10 Rel, after running the Basic Settings Wizard or changing the device master password, a pop-up dialog is displayed requesting that the password be entered once again.

This behavior changes with LANconfig 10.10 RU1 in the following manner:

1) If you set up the LANCOM device using the Basic Settings Wizard, LANconfig accepts the device master password set in the Wizard without requesting it again during the device configuration.

The device master password set in the Wizard is also automatically stored as the password in the device properties.

If you want the device master password to be entered every time the configuration is opened, please delete the password from the Properties dialog. Please note item 2.2 of this document.

2) If the device master password is changed in the configuration of the LANCOM, no pop-up dialog appears requiring that the new password be entered again. This is stored in the configuration of the device without further request.

2.1) If the previous password was also stored in the device properties , a change of the device master password also changes the password stored in the properties .

Because the device master password is stored in the device properties, when the configuration is opened no pop-up dialog opens to request the access credentials.

2.2) If the previous password is NOT stored in the properties of the device, the new device master password IS NOT stored to the properties .

Please make sure that you know the new master password for the device. Without it, you will not be able to access the device configuration.

Because the device master password is not stored in the device properties, each time you open the configuration, a pop-up dialog opens requesting the access credentials for the device.
