Information:
Configuring a DNS forwarding for IPv4 and/or IPv6 in the LANCOM configuration is performed in the dialog Configuration → IPv4 → DNS → Forwarding.
The forwarding destination can be either a remote site or two IP addresses (for the primary and secondary DNS).
It is not possible to mix IP addresses and remote sites, i.e. you can only specify either a remote site or two IP addresses.
If you enter two IP addresses, they must be separated by a space.

Examples:
1) Specifying a remote site:

2) Specifying two IP addresses (primary and secondary DNS):
In this example, the address of the primary DNS server is specified as an IPv4 address (8.8.8.8) and the secondary DNS server is specified as an IPv6 address (2001:4860:4860::8888).
8.8.8.8 2001:4860:4860::8888
  • If you specify a routing tag for the DNS forwarding, the route is used exclusively for packets given the same tag by the firewall or arriving from a network with the corresponding interface tag.
  • It follows that the use of routing tags only makes sense in combination with corresponding, decorative rules in the firewall or tagged networks.
  • If the DNS server or servers are to be reached via a different routing tag than the routing tag configured in the forwarding dialog, the IP address must be extended by the @ sign and the routing tag to be used (example: 8.8.8.8@2).
