Description:

The LANCOM routers LANCOM 1781EF+, LANCOM 1781EW+, LANCOM 178xVA, LANCOM 178xVAW, LANCOM 1781VA-4G and LANCOM WLC-4006+ are implemented with the hardware NAT function, which allows data on WAN connections (NAT) to be transmitted at wirespeed.

Enabling the hardware NAT function facilitates the use of WAN connections that offer Gigabit speeds.

Because the hardware NAT function is disabled by default, this document describes how you can enable the feature in the device configuration.

Requirements:
  • LANCOM router of the type 1781EF+, 1781EW+, 178xVA, 178xVAW, 1781VA-4G, WLC-4006+

Procedure:

1) In LANconfig, open the configuration dialog for the device and switch to the menu item Configuration -> Interfaces -> LAN.

2) In the Ethernet switch settings section, enable the option Hardware NAT.

3) Write the configuration back to the LANCOM router.
