This document contains notes on commissioning the LANCOM R&S® Unified Firewalls without the integrated setup assistent
Requirements:
- Any web browser for access to the web interface of the Unified Firewall
Configuration:
The configuration of your LANCOM R&S® Unified Firewalls is done via a web client. First make sure that the network adapter of your configuration
PC is allocated with the static configured for retrieving an IP address 192.168.1.1 and the netmask 255.255.255.0automatically. . Log in to this web client
with a current browser (we recommend Google Chrome™).
For this purpose, the interface LAN1/eth1 of the firewall is preconfigured with the following IP address:
- LAN1/eth1 – 192.168.1.254/24
You can reach the web client via HTTPS on port 3438.
If you have connected the PC via interface LAN1/eth1, you can reach the firewall‘s web client athttps://192.168.1.254:3438/.
For the first login, please use the following credentials:
- User: admin
- Password: admin
Updating the firmware:
Your R&S® Unified Firewall was delivered with the latest firmware at the time of production. Please check for
updates by proceeding as follows:
- First, you need to connect to the Internet. Follow the steps in the Getting Started chapter of the manual. The manual is linked to the login page of the web client. You can also find it in the Help menu of the webclient.
- Once the internet connection is set up, go to Firewall -> Updates Settings and then refresh the updates list. You receive a list of available firmware updates for your LANCOM R&S® Unified Firewalls that can be installed.
