You can perform a firmware update on any switch in stacking mode by selecting the switch in the dropdown-menu Unit. Active indicates the active firmware and Backup indicates the incative firmware in the second firmware slot. |
1.3) Click on Select Choose File and select the firmware file. Click Begin Transfer afterwards to upload the firmware into the device.

After the update the old firmware isn't transfered to the Backup slot. Instead it isn't available anymore. The firmware in the Backup slot persists. |

The firmware can also be uploaded to the Backup slot instead of the Active slot. The firmware is inactive. Only after a reboot of the switch the firmware in the Backup slot is transfered to the Active slot and then activated. The firmware in Active slot is transfered to the Backup slot. |
