Description:
This document describes which settings to make so that the error message =
=E2=80=9CAP configuration error 18=E2=80=9D no longer occurs in LANmonitor.
Some access points are equipped with two radio modules, one of which is pur=
ely for 802.11ac. In this case, this module cannot be set to the 2.4-Ghz mo=
de.
This affects the following devices:<=
/strong>
- L-822acn
- LN-830acn
- LN-830E
- LN-830U
- LN-630acn
- L-1302acn
- L-1310acn
- LN-862
- LN-860
- LN-1702
- LN-1700
- OAP-830 (both Wi-Fi modules cannot be changed)
If a WLAN controller being monitored in LANmonitor displays the error messa=
ge AP configuration error 18, then the 2.4-GHz band has be=
en assigned to the second Wi-Fi module in the configuration of the WLAN con=
troller. =
Procedure:
To operate the second Wi-Fi module within its supported parameters, it must=
be set to operate in the 5-Ghz band.
1) In the configuration of the WLAN controller, navigate to WLAN co=
ntroller =E2=86=92 General.
2) Make sure that the Mode WLAN ifc.2 value is set to 5 Ghz preferred, fallback 2.4 Ghz. We recommend that you set <=
strong>Mode WLAN ifc.1 to the value 2.4 Ghz preferred, fal=
lback 5 Ghz.
3) In the configuration of the WLAN controller, navigate to WLAN co=
ntroller =E2=86=92 AP configuration =E2=86=92 Access point table.
4) Make sure that in the drop-down menus for Mode WLAN ifc.1 and Mode WLAN ifc.2 are each set to the value D=
efault.
5) It may be necessary to restart the affected access point in order to imp=
lement the changes to the configuration.
