Description:
With Windows versions 7 to 10, a support configuration file (e.g. sample.spf) cannot be opened directly with a double click of the mouse.
This is because there is no application link in Windows for the file extension of the support configuration file (*.spf).
This document describes how to correct this behavior.
Requirements:
- LANtools as of version 9 (download current Version)
- Windows as of version 7
Procedure:
1. Download the following ZIP file and unzip it on your system.
2. Click on the Windows registry file included and confirm the following dialogs with OK.
3. After executing the file, an application link to the file extension * .spf is created in the Windows registry (in the path
Computer\HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Classes\).
4. Double-click the support configuration file.
5. The support configuration file is then opened in LANconfig.
