Description:
This document describes the procedure for analyzing connection problems when operating AutoWDS.

AutoWDS is not supported anymore as of LCOS 10.70. The functionality still remeins intact in LANCOM devices (except in 18xx series routers) and therefore still can be used for existing installations. However LANCOM Systems will not provide any support regarding the configuration and troubleshooting of an AutoWDS scenario.

Requirements:

Assigning the correct bridge group to the interface WLC-Tunnel-AUTOWDS:
First of all, go to Interfaces → LAN → Port table to check that the logical interface WLC-Tunnel-AUTOWDS is assigned to the same bridge group as that used by the logical LAN interface.
With the LAN interface and the interface WLC-Tunnel-AUTOWDS in the same bridge group, you then have to check under IPv4 → General → IP networks to see that the bridge group is assigned to the correct IP network.

Creating traces:
Once the configuration has been performed correctly, any communication issues are likely to be in the wireless LAN. These can be analyzed with trace recordings.
Connect to the access point and the WLAN Controller via the LANtracer and create traces in the error state by using the attached trace configurations.
How to record a trace with a prefabricated trace configuration is described in this Knowledge Base article

The traces on the access point and the WLAN Controller have to be created at the same time.
