Description:
In certain cases, the LANCOM Management Cloud may be unable to roll out a configuration to the device due to an invalid parameter. An SNMP error is output to the device log.
There could be an invalid parameter either in the configuration of the device itself or in the LMC configuration.
This article describes how to identify and correct the invalid parameter from the command line or via the LMC.

Requirement:
  • Access to the LANCOM Management Cloud

Procedure:
1) Fixing invalid parameters from the command line:
Proceed with the analysis and troubleshooting as described in this Knowledge Base article.
1.1) Connect to the LMC, click Devices and then click the affected device.

1.2) Click Device log to find the problematic value.

1.3) Make a note of the SNMP ID shown as the “cfgid” in the error message, along with the invalid value.

1.4) Download the english Menu Reference Guide to check which command-line path is behind the SNMP ID.

You will need the English version of the Menu Reference Guide because the language on the command line is English.

1.5) In the Menu Reference Guide, look for the SNMP ID while omitting the first and last digits. In this example, this would be 2.24 . This points to the console path Setup/Public-Spot-Module . The parameter 1 refers to the authentication mode .

1.6) Reset the table to its default settings with the command default -r .

Make sure you are in the correct table. Executing this command in the root directory will delete the entire router configuration and reset the default values (this applies to all setup tables)!

If manual configuration changes have been made to a table or any of its child tables, then do not reset that table to its default values by using the command default -r. Instead, delete the erroneous parameter if it is unnecessary or assign the default value to the parameter (also see step 4 in this Knowledge Base article ).

1.7) Now check whether the configuration can be rolled out via the LMC. If necessary, repeat the above steps for any further invalid parameters.
If the configuration still cannot be written even after performing the steps described above, then there is a faulty parameter in the LMC configuration. In this case, continue with step 2.

2) The invalid parameter is in the configuration of the LANCOM Management Cloud:
2.1) Connect to the LMC, click Devices and then click the affected device.
2.2) Click on Detail configuration.
2.3 Navigate to the corresponding menu (in this case Public Spot → Authentication → Authentication mode) and change the parameter to the desired value.
