In the LANconfig settings it is possible to reference a common settings file which can be accessed by several LANconfig installations.
With this it is possible that in every LANconfig installation e.g. the same program settings are used and configuration access to the same devices is possible.
Please note that this type of shared configuration access is not a collaborative access, as it is e.g. is used in cloud or server-based applications.
Gripping e.g. Several users simultaneously via LANconfig to the configuration of the same LANCOM device and write back changes, so the configuration change that started the write-back process first is always adopted; the other write-back processes are discarded because the settings file is blocked.
We therefore recommend that you only use this solution if you can ensure that only one user is processing device configurations at the same time and that there can be no collisions with other users.
If a common configuration access in the sense of a collaboration solution is to be used, we recommend using the LANCOM Management Cloud.
